Learning Experiences

Lititz Institute (LI) is focused on restoring the Lord Jesus Christ’s Body to Him, His Church. That is not a work anyone should undertake without being led into and throughout it by God. Our goal is to educate, coach, and mentor those people God brings to LI in communicating clearly with God. We will help people to hear what God is saying to them and see what He does in and about them. This occurs through softening our spiritual hearts and opening them to God, so that our spirit person can see and hear in the spiritual realm. We call our classes learning experiences, for you must experience the spiritual realm to learn. We must not be like the person the apostle Paul describes in Colossians 2:18-19. We must instead, as Paul says, hold to what our head, the Lord Jesus, is requesting of us so that all the Body of Christ thrives. If we fail to fulfill our role in the Body, the whole Body suffers, and we will be held accountable. This is solemn work and must be done prayerfully and purposefully. This is not a heavy duty, but instead we are filled with tremendous and continuous joy, peace, and righteousness as we proceed correctly. It is worth our temporal cross to our flesh to learn how to serve God, and there are rich eternal rewards for doing so. We will not be perfect, we will make mistakes, but we must all keep moving towards the goal of being conformed to the image of Christ.

Learning about the spiritual realm must be approached as an infant or small child. People cannot leverage their natural talents and learning abilities. Learning in the spiritual realm only comes through developing a close, deep relationship with God. This is explained cursorily below, but remember as you read it that you will interpret it in natural realm experience, and that will not work. You may think you understand, but at best, that understanding is a distant, fuzzy metaphor. We only come to understand the spiritual realm as we grow within it. We cannot grow in physical stature solely through mental effort; that growth requires a skill set of nourishing food, an encouraging social environment, a stable emotional environment, and appropriate intellectual challenges. Furthermore, that growth required a God-given genetic template. Spiritual realm growth requires a spiritual environment of emotional stability and love, social encouragement from people stronger in spirit, and appropriate intellectual challenges. However, we must initially accept ourselves as babes and infants in that realm, as we begin to let God grow and develop our spirit person.

Introduction

On this page, you will find a list of experiences you can sign up for. The Lititz Institute (LI) focuses primarily on developing the human spirit, rather than the intellect of the mind, after a person has received a second birth from God. Our primary goal is to foster an increasingly intimate relationship between each person and God. No human teacher can replace the precisely focused teaching and leading of the Holy Spirit when one submits their ways to Him. LI teachers are more mentors and coaches than didactic teachers presenting a fixed curriculum. The goal is to be conformed to the Image of the Lord Jesus Christ in power, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. Note how the demons knew Jesus and Paul when talking with Sceva’s sons. We want wicked spirits to know and respect us, and our God-given authority (Acts 19:14-17).

Teaching from the Holy Spirit depends on acquiring Bible knowledge through time and depth in God’s Word. God uses His living Word to bring a shared mental model of reality to the relationship. Without a person reading the Bible prayerfully while talking with God, they cannot develop faith in God. They may develop faith in the person teaching them what the Bible says, but God tells us that without faith in Him, it is impossible to please Him. Notice how the Lord Jesus defended against Satan's lies during His temptation period in the wilderness. If God depended on speaking to us in our everyday language and vocabulary, it would be very easy for the evil spirits to mimic Him and confuse us about what thoughts came from God, us, and an evil spirit.

The teachers who work with LI have a recognized teaching ministry from God that has manifested in their secular and spiritual journeys. They teach from their experiences of being in a relationship with God. Certain foundational aspects of our spirit-person can be taught as principles, extensively based on God’s Word. These principles are essential for the growth and strengthening of your spirit.

LI teaches all denominations and serves as an equipping ministry to the Body of Christ, the Lord Jesus. The focus is on bringing all people, given a second birth into the spiritual realm, into a flourishing relationship with God. LI wants to ensure that God and the person are pleased with a growing intimacy and that the relationship is productive for God’s kingdom. A close relationship with God transcends our earthly fears and anxieties, and He provides for our needs.

Our learning experiences (classes) are experiential, during which you will begin developing links with the Body of Christ, establish spiritual realm goals, start to discover God’s work for you, and determine your role in the Body of Christ. You will begin the processes that lead to spiritual maturity. Classes will be interactive, and the learning materials are for your use at home. They will provide the wisdom to begin your spiritual realm growth.

When you look at the syllabus for each class, do not be dismayed by the amount of preparation. The preparation material should be glanced at and skimmed through. It can be savored over the days and weeks following the class's end. You can download most of these preparation materials or purchase them in book form.

What LI Teaches

Learning in the spirit differs from using the mind in the academic world-system-sponsored learning. We do not have a curriculum with specific subjects that must be passed. Our teaching centers on how we interact with God and avoid being misled by our flesh and the devil. Learning comes through experience, and experiences increase in depth and breadth as faith in God increases. Our teachers cannot know what God wants to teach you moment by moment, but they can coach and guide you in developing a growing relationship with Him. Success depends on the time you devote to God and His Word, as well as your degree of obedience to God's commands. We offer learning experiences that can be taken in any order; however, it is essential to begin with and continue through the foundational courses. These foundational courses are labelled below.

The beginning

Lititz, Pennsylvania was founded by Count Nicholas Ludwig Von Zinzendorf, a founder of the modern Moravian Church, in 1755 when he accepted a land grant from John and Anna Klein of 491 acres. Lititz was named after a castle in North Eastern Bohemia used successfully as a refuge where early Moravian followers of martyred John Hus successfully sheltered in 1456.

The place

Herrnhut in Saxony holds a prominent place in Protestant history, founded by Count Zinzendorf on his land in 1722 to allow religious refugees to settle. The community birthday in 1727 the 100-year prayer watch and the Holy Spirit descended in power with a revival marked by the palpable presence of the spirit over a prolonged time.

The call

In 2001 the Holy Spirit indicated we should purchase a house which was directly across East Main Street, Lititz from the Moravian Church. The Spirit indicated we would send embers all over the world from our work there. In this house we found a prayer portal, and it was here that God refined our understanding of how people are to master the process of being led by His Spirit. We wrote and published the first of several books in this house and held small fellowship and teaching groups around the table of fellowship. Several other books have followed and more recently the Spirit has been giving instruction in these books about the fuel for sustained revival, which will result in a rich and bountiful final harvest for the lord God.

The books are a result of the rich history of Herrnhut, Lititz, and the dispersion of Protestantism via Herrnhut to the New World; Wesley, among many, were instruments. Church leaders exhort people to love the Lord, to worship Him, and to place Him first. All is needful, commitment is essential. No one can change to this profound level without a process. Lititz Institute is the main vehicle for our teaching about the Biblical processes one must use to bring about the deep change needed to be used by God in His service. We are to be transformed by the renewing of our mind and the purification of our heart to be Holy unto the Lord. During this time of change we must learn how to take authority over evil spirits; this requires earning the authority from our relationship with God.

Prerequisites

You must have received the second birth. People have various names for that experience, including being born again, spiritual awakening, and being filled with the spirit. Without that second birth into the spiritual realm, you have no Holy Spirit indwelling your spiritual heart, and you do not have a new spirit and a new spiritual heart. If you are unsure of your second birth status, we have a free session you can sign up for to help you know. It is offered on demand.

Materials Required

You will need a reliable word-by-word translation of the Bible. We recommend an updated King James Version, the New King James Version, the New American Standard Version, and the Revised English Standard Version. We are concerned about the adequacy of other translations to follow the original Greek and Hebrew.

You will need an Exhaustive Strong’s Concordance to match your Bible; electronic forms are good. Logos Bible Software is excellent. It allows you to explore the Greek and Hebrew behind the English translation, which can be important. We cover how to do this in the foundational Bible course

The book "How to Be Led by the Spirit of God: Maturing in the Spirit" will provide you with an extensive, foundational biblical background for our teaching. That Bible background is essential for your trust (faith) to be transferred from the teacher to God through His Word. The Resources section features free Vimeo videos that cover the book's content. The book "Spirit" has some free diagrams available for download in the resources section when you request a download of the book.

Spiritual growth requires interactive Bible reading and topic studies. This is usually how God communicates with us, highlighting a particular scripture in our minds. Often, time availability becomes an issue. God redeems the time we spend with Him and His Word by placing insights for our secular work and personal problems into our spirit person. Broad, deep, and copious Bible reading increases our ability to discern God speaking to us and is a prerequisite for success in developing our spirit person, and for our success in our natural realm work.

Learning Experiences

Since learning in the spirit is experiential, as our spirit person grows, this learning is not obtained like world system classroom learning. That leads to calling our offerings experiences. It is common to have shared spiritual realm experiences, but most of us are at the point in our spiritual growth where we are learning to see and hear in the spiritual realm, as God leads us through experiences. We learned to associate retinal light patterns and sound patterns in the natural realm as our natural parents gave them names and labels. Only our spiritual parent, our Father in Heaven, can open the eyes and ears of our spirit. Our staff focuses on coaching and mentoring on how to develop a relationship with God. The processes for developing a close relationship with God are no longer common knowledge in our churches. Therefore, all people who seek our training and equipping should begin with our introductory course on How to be Led by the Spirit of God. It will not seem basic for most who enroll because there are many new things to absorb. After that, it may be helpful to take additional learning experiences to improve your relationship with God. It is advisable to take our other core course on how to use the Bible wisely.

Reasoning in the spirit person differs from reasoning in the natural realm of the body of flesh. God places wisdom and knowledge deep within, and we obtain them like drawing them up from a deep well as we meditate before God with active interchanges in His Word. That difference in reasoning solutions for situations comes about by our need to be led in the spiritual and natural realms by the Spirit of God. Success in being led by God’s Spirit allows Him to coordinate the Body of Christ, a critical coordination in this era of escalating spiritual warfare.

The staff of LI can promise that you are led by one of three entities, and usually it is a mixture of all three: God’s Spirit, Your Flesh, or the Devil and his evil angels. There is only one wise choice, and our role is to help you learn how to follow God’s Spirit consistently.

Foundational Learning Experiences

Presently, only four learning experiences are available, and these will always be available. They are essential for the other learning experiences, which will build on them. Those currently available are:

There is a single free session for anyone who wants to ask questions to determine their second birth status. It is offered as requested. Please request it through the contact us page.

Currently, these are the only learning experiences offered on a regular schedule. Joe Wehrer and Bruce Williams will offer other experiences when someone requests to enroll. Anyone who has received a second birth can request a learning experience in the other areas by email from the Contact Us section of the website. LI adheres to this principle. Some people may not be able to afford the fees associated with our offerings, and others may be able to compensate for their lack. Our suggested fee structure is included in each Learning Experience Syllabus and on the booking page. Fees can be paid by Check or Credit Card.

We have contracted with a joint venture between Microsoft and Zensai to provide this learning management system with integrated payment through Stripe, an International Financial Exchange Service for e-commerce. This allows us to provide the highest levels of privacy and security for both your learning experience sessions through the Microsoft Teams software and the financial security of the Stripe Gateway. Zensai is a Japanese word for Appetizer, which we think will be prophetic for the development of your spirit person.
